iNovo Broadband was founded in 2011 by a group of executives with extensive experience in the cable television and digital service provider industries. All of the founders worked at Scientific-Atlanta (acquired by Cisco in 2005) in senior management and/or senior technical positions and have 20 years+ of experience in the industry. The company is based in Duluth, GA on the Northeast side of Atlanta, GA. By leveraging its extensive network of industry relationships, the company is able to rapidly introduce CPE solutions to its worldwide customer base, offering the latest features based on specific customer requirements at the highest quality standard and very competitive pricing. We are also developing unique intellectual property which will further enhance our value proposition to our customer base.
Michael Harney, CEO
Michael Harney is one of the most respected executives in the cable television industry, with a track record of innovation that spans 3 decades. Mainstream applications and technologies he was instrumental in bringing to market include: Video on-Demand (VOD), Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), High Definition Television (HDTV), broadband data, and integrated triple play (voice, video, and data) solutions. While at Scientific-Atlanta (which Cisco acquired in 2006 for $6.9 billion) Michael was responsible for nearly $3 billion in annual revenues related to set-top boxes, voice and data CPE, media distribution systems, and IPTV devices. He was President of their Subscriber Networks Group, a division he helped build as an engineer, engineering manager, and finally as General Manager. As such, Harney regularly interfaced with C-level executives at leading broadband service providers across the globe, including Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision Systems, Rogers, AT&T, Verizon, Virgin Media, I-Cable, UPC, T-Online, and Hathway. He has 15 patents on subscriber television devices and systems. Michael holds Masters Degrees in both Business Administration (Emory University) and Electrical Engineering (Syracuse University) and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jack Miller, COO
Jack Miller is a successful entrepreneur who has started several businesses including N2 Broadband in 2000. As the founding CEO of N2 Broadband, Jack recruited the other founders, developed the core strategy of the
business and closed the critical initial commercial deals with Time
Warner Cable, Warner Brothers and InDemand. Jack closed seed round
investment of $1.3 million and Series A financing of $6 million. Jack also led the company’s VOD strategy known as OpenStream. In 2005, N2 Broadband was acquired by Tandberg TV for $120 million. Jack is active in the local technology start-up community as an investor and advisor to several companies and is a member of Atlanta Technology Angels. Jack has 30 years of general management, business development and project management experience in the cable television, telecommunications and aerospace industries. Jack was with Scientific-Atlanta for 9 years and also worked at EMS and Harris Corporation. Jack has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State.
Himanshu Parikh, CTO
Himanshu Parikh is an experienced General Management executive with a strong background in engineering. As a VP and General Manager at Cisco/Scientific Atlanta, Himanshu led one of the fastest growing revenue-generating organizations in the company and built a $1B+ group. A pioneer in the cable and telco industries, Himanshu directed the creation of multiple business units and launched initiatives validated by the achievement of metrics such as revenue objectives, timelines, double digit profitability growth, and market positioning success. Himanshu has been successful in blending an entrepreneurial spirit into large and mid-size organizations. He has comprehensive expertise in the fields of cable, telecommunications, mobile, and Internet/Online video sectors. He has a track record of success in establishing market leadership for digital set-top, cable modems, IPTV set-top and Femtocell. Himanshu helped pioneer the launch of DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 cable modem technology to further enhance cable operators’ ability to deliver advanced IP services. Himanshu has been actively involved in sponsoring strategic investments in startups, which specialize in carrier-grade video over Wi-Fi. During his more than 33 years in the cable television industry he has been awarded multiple patents and has been an active participant in industry organizations and initiatives such as CableLabs and OpenCable. Himanshu has pioneered many other technologies in addition to IP Networks’ core products, including HDTV on Cable, SEGA Game Channel delivery thru HFC, a traffic control system for use over a hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) cable plant, and an alarm control system for use over HFC. Himanshu has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ajith Nair, VP of Engineering
Ajith Nair is an experienced engineer with 30+ years of experience working at Scientific-Atlanta and Cisco in video and data technologies. Ajith architected the original digital set-top box and was the main hardware architect for the next 8 generations of S-A/Cisco digital set-top boxes, achieving the level of Principal Engineer at S-A and Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems. Ajith has done pioneering work on the development of digital video compression using vector quantization, MPEG and DAVIC standards. Ajith worked extensively with offshore manufacturing partners and SoC vendors to define STB and ASIC requirements to optimize the hardware designs for cost and performance. Ajith has 10 patents awarded and more than 25 pending applications. . He worked as the CTO of SPVTG-APAC, Cisco in Shanghai China for the last 2 years. Ajith has a degree in electronics and communication engineering from the college of engineering, Trivandrum, India and did postgraduate work at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada.
Douglas Woodhead, Principal Architect
Douglas Woodhead is an experienced engineering leader in consumer electronics, communications networks, digital audio/video processing, and systems control product development. Douglas has over 19 years experience in digital video development at Cisco Systems/Scientific-Atlanta as VP Engineering/Director at Cisco/S-A. Douglas directed the digital video cable control system development which provides subscriber management, conditional access, network device management, and billing systems interface functions as well as other key products in the digital video cable end-to-end product offering with engineering teams in Atlanta and India. Douglas directed the ASIC development group for high volume digital video/audio/communication adapters and home gateway products. This development included over 30 digital video ASICs including network, set-top box and gateway functionality. Douglas co-directed the software development across all North American cable set-top box platforms with >300 engineers in teams located worldwide. Douglas directed the digital video head-end hardware and software development. He has extensive experience across multiple O/S and platform environments with multiple middle-ware and conditional access solutions. Douglas has 10 granted/applied patent awards in digital video technologies. Douglas has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University in Logan, UT.
Jim Kiker, VP Product Management
Jim Kiker is a veteran in the broadband technology arena with over 20 years of product strategy and management experience and is versatile in business development, marketing, and product strategy to major service providers around the world. Jim spent his last 17 years with Cisco Systems (formerly Scientific-Atlanta) in a variety of system, architectural, and CPE specific roles. Jim's previous position was as Director, Strategy and Product Management for the $1B+ Connected Home Solutions business unit within Cisco Systems Service Provider Technology Group in Atlanta, Georgia. Jim was responsible for managing and charting the course of Cisco’s IP set-top product lines, Cable set-top product lines, and Gateway product lines. In his 17 years at Cisco, he has helped secure major wins with service providers such as Time Warner, Virgin Media, UPC, Ziggo, Voo, Net Servicos, Hong Kong Cable, Serbia Broadband, StarHub, Hathway, and Asianet. Jim worked closely with all the major SoC suppliers (Broadcom, ST, Trident, Zoran, Intel, and Sigma) and has extensive relationships with multiple software development companies in Europe and India. Jim also has close relationships with the cable conditional access companies including Nagra, NDS, Conax, and Irdeto and associated middlewares that run on STB platforms that utilize OpenTV, Tivo, and NDS among others. Prior to coming to Cisco Systems, Jim worked at OKI telecom as a product manager for five years developing handheld cellular telephones for the North American market. Jim has an M.B.A. in International Business from Georgia State University and a BBA in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
Jesse Still, VP Operations
Jesse Still has over 30 years of experience at Cisco Systems (formerly Scientific Atlanta) developing customer premise equipment including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation digital RF Set-tops, DOCSIS/Euro-DOCSIS 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 high speed data modems and residential gateways, and IPTV set-tops for the worldwide service provider market. Jesse’s previous position was as Director, Hardware Engineering for Cisco’s Modem and IPTV group within the Cisco Service Provider Video Group serving in various roles such as hardware architect, system integrator, and partner management. This business has grown to over a $1B+ business within a 10 year span. Prior to Jesse’s role in the Modem and IPTV group, Jesse was Director, Engineering for Scientific Atlanta’s Digital Video group and established the digital set-top development team which designed and produced the first digital set-top for Time Warner’s digital trial in Orlando. In this role, Jesse served as system architect, production engineer lead, and product cost manager. While at Cisco and Scientific Atlanta, Jesse was responsible for the development of over 30 different CPE products for customers like Time Warner, Comcast, AT&T, DeutcheTelcon, Portugal Telecon, Telus, and Swisscom. Jesse has working relationship with many SoC vendors, software partners, and manufacturing partners around the world. Jesse has an MBA from Emory University and a MSEE from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Benny Hsu, VP of Manufacturing Partners
Benny Hsu has worked in the cable TV, wireless, telecommunications, and computing industry for over thirty years. Benny was responsible for hardware/product design for Cisco’s Cable Home Networking Business Unit. Additionally, Benny managed all aspects of the company’s offshore high volume manufacturing relationships. Prior to joining Cisco/Scientific Atlanta, he worked with General Instruments (Motorola) for five years and Mitusmi (Tuner Manufacturer) for four years. Benny’s career experience includes networking CPE devices, digital set-top boxes, IPTV set-top boxes, telco/cable CPE, femtocell and wireless technology CPE. Benny a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&I University and speaks fluent Mandarin.
David Nicholas, VP/GM North America
David Nicholas has more than thirty (30) years of demonstrable success in the CATV industry, resulting in senior-level relationships with decision makers at virtually every leading MSO in North America. Most recently, David was Group Vice President at Panasonic, responsible for all aspects of their cable business in the U.S, with a specific focus on the set tops. Entrepreneurial by nature, David worked at N2 Broadband (acquired by Tandberg TV for $130 million in 2005), where he was instrumental in helping close many of their formative opportunities. Similarly, Nicholas also helped grow BigBand Networks, a company that was ultimately acquired by Arris in 2011 for $170 million. David also held a succession of increasingly responsible sales/sales management positions at notable companies such as Cheetah, Concurrent , Philips, Pioneer, Symmetricom, and Vyyo. He holds a B.A. degree from Lafayette College, and an M.S. degree from Syracuse University.
Roshan D'Souza, VP/GM Asia Pacific Region
Roshan D’souza is an experienced general manager and sales executive with 18 years of experience in successfully building and scaling businesses in South Asia. His background includes product startups and building and managing regional operations/businesses within Philips, Arris, Scientific-Atlanta and Cisco. Recently was president of a 1,000 people broadband division of Hathway in India, the largest digital cable operator in India. Roshan has won numerous sales awards in Arris, S-A & Cisco for having led the company to a leadership position in the video service provider space. These included selling the 1st PowerKey E2E solution and Cisco IPTV headend solution in APAC resulting in over $40 million in annual sales. Roshan holds a bachelors degree in electronics engineering from the University of Pune and a MBA in marketing from the Xavier Institute of Management.
Fernando Mechetti, VP of Sales, Latin America Region
Fernando Mechetti is an experienced sales executive with 19 years in high technology and telecommunications industries. Fernando joined Scientific-Atlanta in 1998 as an Account Manager and grew from there to General Manager of Latin America for the video division at Cisco Systems. He implemented the sales strategies and managed a team of 20 account executives, growing sales by 55%% in his region in 3 years, always exceeding company goals. Fernando was instrumental to close the first International digital set-top deal at S-A, and grew the cable modem business in Latin America from zero to $60 million in 7 years. Prior to joining S-A, Fernando was the Sales Director at Sirti in Argentina. Fernando has an MBA from El Salvador University (Argentina), a degree as Electronic Engineer from UBA University (Argentina) and a Sales Master (Cisco in London).
