Michael Harney Joins iNovo Broadband as CEO

Duluth, GA - iNovo Broadband, Inc., an Atlanta-based start-up specializing in service provider-centric CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), announced today that cable industry veteran Michael Harney has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer.

“No one is more qualified to lead us than Michael,” said Jack Miller, iNovo’s co-founder and Chief Operating Officer. “The addition of a senior executive with his record of success is a significant milestone for our organization.”

Harney recently led Cisco’s Service Provider Video Technology Group, and was responsible for nearly $3 billion in annual revenues from set-top boxes, voice and data terminals, media distribution systems, and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) devices. At Scientific-Atlanta (acquired in 2006), Michael was Corporate SVP and President of their flagship Subscriber Networks Group, a division he helped build as an engineer, technical leader, and finally as President. Innovations brought forth under his stewardship include video on-demand (VOD), digital video recorders (DVRs), HDTV, high speed data, and integrated triple play (voice, video, and data) platforms.

“Bringing new technologies to market successfully demands an intimate understanding of the installed base,” remarked Harney, noting that iNovo’s core technical group made substantial contributions to nearly every major breakthrough in the digital era. And while standardization now affords service providers more CPE choices than ever before, “There is always room for suppliers who can execute, and this team has proven that they can.”

“Michael has long been one of the most respected executives in the cable television industry,” offered Chris Bowick, President of the Bowick Group. “His addition to their existing strong team further establishes iNovo as a credible alternative to legacy suppliers.” Bowick served as CTO for several leading cable operators during his distinguished career, and is a member of iNovo’s Advisory Board.
